Daarmee voegt Albron extra sfeer en smaak toe aan het mooiste lentepark van de wereld. Samen met de Keukenhof hebben ze een grote impact op duurzaam toerisme in de Bollenstreek. Zo maken ze gebruik van lokale ingredi\u00ebnten en worden er in alle segmenten veganistische en vegetarische producten aangeboden. Het bevoorraden van de paviljoens is de grootste uitdaging op het park. De lucht is strakblauw en de vogels voeren de boventoon. Als ik het Basecamp van Albron op rijd, zijn er al vele mensen in alle stilte voor de storm druk in de weer. Er heerst een opgewekte en beheerste sfeer. We worden ontvangen door Gerst Westenbroek, de Manager Food and Quality van Albron. Gert vertelt me over het duurzaam ondernemen bij Albron. Het boegbeeld voor duurzaam ondernemen is het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegreenhouserestaurant.nl\/\">Greenhouse in Utrecht<\/a>. Dat is zo een beetje de broedplaats. Voor streekproducten zijn weinig \u2018foodmiles\u2019 afgelegd. Op deze manier zorgt lokaal geproduceerd voedsel voor minder CO2-uitstoot. Ook is er in de restaurants een duidelijke verschuiving te zien van dierlijke producten naar plantaardige- en vegetarische producten. Als leidraad houdt Albron bij het samenstellen van de menu\u2019s minimaal 80% groente en maximaal 20% vlees aan. Dit is terug te vinden in alle segmenten van de kaart. Bij het ontbijt kun je bijvoorbeeld vegan broodjes bestellen. En bij de koffie vind je vegan brownies. Voor lunch en diner is er de spinazieburger van LaRoo. Vooraf kent niemand elkaar. Gert vertelt dat het mooi is om te zien hoe de teams gedurende de weken dat het Keukenhof open is, steeds hechter worden. Om 8.00 uur opent het park de deuren. Dan moeten alle paviljoens bevoorraad zijn. Gert geeft aan dat dit dagelijks de grootste uitdaging is. Zodra de hekken open zijn, is het niet meer de bedoeling dat er kratten met drinken en dozen brood heen en weer worden gesleept. Alles op de Keukenhof moet namelijk fotowaardig zijn. Alles draait om het \u2018perfecte plaatje\u2019. Kinderen met mooi ingevlochten haren en kanten jurkjes. Mannen in harembroeken en vilten hoeden. De camera\u2019s komen tevoorschijn en er worden miljoenen foto\u00b4s geschoten. De chef heeft inmiddels de groenteburger voor ons klaargemaakt.
